Ep. 80: The Fire That Took Her - the Judy Malinowski story
In this episode, Sean, Denise, and Humberto discuss the sad case of Judy Malinowski, who was set on fire behind a Speedway gasoline by her then boyfriend, William ("Michael") Slager. Even though she suffered over 90% burns on her body, Judy persevered and fought for well over two years – setting a precedent in Ohio of a woman testifying before her death about the events leading to her demise.
The case explores the concept of the death penalty, familial trauma, recognizing when children are at an appropriate age to discuss their trauma, and overall healing. The documentary is called, "The Fire that Took Her" on Paramount+.
